Susan Patricia Golden was invited and enthusiastically received by the participants at the Florida Adlerian Society’s (FAS) 14th Annual Conference “The Relationship Solution: Building Character In The Home and School” held at the University of South Florida from 19 to 21 of February 2009.
The last day of the conference moved to the Alfred Adler Elementary School in St. Petersburg, Florida 33713. This is a wonderful school run with the STUDENT’s best interest as the first order of business! Yea Greg and Lori!!! www.atlearningadventures.com/
The founder of the Florida Adlerian Society, Tim Evans, was joined by his business partner and wife Geri Carter. They have the Carter and Evans Marriage and Family Therapy in Tampa, Florida.
It was also fun to see several people I have known for 30 years, intermittently: Kathy and Frank Walton of South Carolina, Betty Lou Bettner from Pennsylvania, Dan Eckstein from Texas, Wes Wingett from Wisconsin (I think) to name a few.
Great Job and I look forward to the 15th Annual Conference!

Yesterday I was between stores in downtown Portland and in a hurry. I’d just bought a book at Powell’s City of Books and was on the scent of a folding accordion-file. I’d been walking longer than I though I should have, so periodically stopped into restaurants whose outside patrons were enjoying dinner on the sidewalk and 90-degree evening breezes to ask directions.
“Is there an Office Max somewhere down here?” And each time I got a bit more directions.
Suddenly off to my left I saw a store with a piano in the window. I did not recognize the make of piano, but any piano in a storm. I went in and, sure enough, it was a foreign land of pianos whose brands I’d never seen before. And there in the middle of all of them was a baby-grand Steinway piano, its top raised.
I was smitten and asked one of three sales ladies at a desk if I could play the Steinway. They said I could not, as there was a class being given in an adjacent room, and pointed to a window. Sure enough, behind the window a semi-circle of people sat around a piano as the master raced up and down the keys. Read the rest of this entry »
On Friday evening we had the great honor and pleasure to welcome and experience Deepak Chopra, President of the Alliance for a New Humanity and David Simon, Director and CEO of the Chopra Center to the Palm Harbor and Tampa Bay Area. Some were between 1000 and 1500 people gathered to “Be the Change we want to see in the world”!
It was a stunning evening! Their team did a fabulous job to create this successful evening, led by Ms. Dale Colton, who organized and Moderated the evening and David Greenspan, Chief Operations Officer of the Chopra Center.
Rev. Abhi Janamanchi of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Clearwater offered a special invocation and meditation (UUC is an organization committed to “Deeds not Creeds” and 7 Principles whereby people can live in peace creating a world that works for all.)
Peter Nehr our State Representative gave a warm welcome to our visitors. Read the rest of this entry »
